Accordionist charles magnante biography

Charles Magnante received his first accordion lesson on his 9th Birthday.  His father was his only teacher.  He started playing professionally at 14, and soon began broadcasting.

Recognition for his superb technique and musical control quickly followed, and tutors and arrangements followed, some of his arrangements of well known standards are probably the finest most accordionistic ever written, the bass work and swing sections of these standards, have never been superceded.

An acknowledged master of accordion amplification, he later established his own extensive sound laboratory.  His hobbies included big game hunting and fishing.

His recordings are breathtaking in stylistic performance, and he has followers all over the world, who hold him as one of the finest arrangers for the accordion, and exponent of the swing accordion.
