Who is Edward Said?

Edward Said, in full Edward Wadie (William) Said, was born on November 1, 1935 in Jerusalem. He was a Palestinian-Christian scholar, a controversial literary critic, and a bold political activist.

An Arab Christian in America, Said raised his voice for the social and political rights of the Palestinian people. He also advocated for the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
